Environment and sustainability issues assume an ever increasing relevance at the local and global level, with direct and indirect impacts in companies and organizations.

Environmentally responsible behavior and excellence constitute relevant factors for the evaluation of the organization’s performance and long term success.

Timor-Leste currently presents the need to act pro-actively in the environmental domain. The recent publication of the new Environmental Licensing Regulations drives the public and private sector to conduct their activities to an acceptable level of environmental legal conformity that prevents negative environmental impacts adapted to the complexity of their projects, in order to allow for a satisfactory level of sustainable development in the country.

Another fundamental condition for the progressive development of Timor-Leste is thus presented, a guiding instrument for the State but more importantly for the development of a private sector conscious of the current need for the environmental sustainability that Timor-Leste truly requires.
